How It Works

A simple process that turns time and compassion into meaningful connection.

Making Connection Easy and Meaningful

Bridging Hearts makes it easy for volunteers to connect with elderly individuals who are experiencing loneliness. Our process is designed to be simple, flexible, and focused on building genuine relationships—one visit at a time.

STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS

Complete the volunteer interest form and tell us your availability, interests, and preferred level of involvement.

Get Matched

We connect you with a participating nursing home and elderly residents who would love a visit. Matches are made thoughtfully to ensure comfort, compatibility, and safety.

Stay Connected

Volunteers may have opportunities to connect through meetings or group discussions focused on building community, sharing experiences, and staying engaged with Bridging Hearts Across Generations.

Make Visits

Spend time talking, reading, playing games, doing crafts, or simply listening to stories. These visits help build meaningful friendships and brighten lives on both sides

What to Expect During a Visit

Visits are relaxed, personal, and centered on connection. There is no pressure to do anything elaborate—just showing up and being present can make a powerful difference.

Every interaction is guided by kindness, respect, and empathy.
